Fresh Start Ministries was originally founded as Found in Faith Ministries (FIFM) in April 2016 when three women who were leading independent furniture ministries at their local churches combined their efforts under one nonprofit, recognizing this was the best way to meet increasing needs in the Harford County community. While there were organizations who assisted the underserved with finding adequate shelter and housing, there was not an organization that helped families furnish these houses and transform them into safe, comfortable homes, thus creating an unnecessary barrier to self-sufficiency. Since its inception, God’s hand has been patiently weaving together the personal strengths, gifts, and faith of these three local women determined to make people’s lives better. What only God could see was that in five years’ time, the passion of those women would spread across Harford County and as a result, 1,052 families would find dignity and warmth in a newly furnished home.
