Mission

To enhance academic achievement, inspire confidence, and expose youth to positive mentoring experiences that transform the trajectory of their future.

Vision

We envision a community in which youth regardless of background, geographical location, economic or social status, are valued by a caring, loving, and engaging support system that includes adults, youth, and younger peers.

Background

Mentoring Mentors, Inc. (Mentoring Mentors) is a Baltimore based 501(c)(3) mentorship non-profit organization established in 2014 to promote community interdependency and long-term relationships for urban African American youth/adolescents ages 11-18. At our core, Mentoring Mentors is an organization that celebrates interdependency and teaches commitment to the community.

The Four Focus drives Mentoring Mentors’ yearly focal program outcomes. Some of the focus areas may overlap within any given stage of youth development. The goal is to create a generational culture that steers youth towards relation, community, and commitment. The Four Focus

  • Produces positive models that promote a healthy community defined by relationships to support our youth, their families, and the community

  • Teaches active socio-emotional learning and strategies to assist with lived experience

  • Improves literacy skills

  • Develops partnerships with higher education, workforce development, and armed forces to enhance career readiness and cultivate a path for future success

Grant Use

Funding will be used for programming resources, including human capacity and instructional materials so we can continue to provide meaningful activities, educational support, and post-high school opportunities through structured after school / out-of-school programs four times per week for African American youth ages 11-18 in Baltimore.

“We will never be comfortable with where we are, so we relentlessly pursue what God is calling us to do and who to be. Therefore, we teach and train our youth to love, encourage, engage, empower, and inspire their neighbors.”
